For six days, from 17 to 22 July, in Pasłęk, Dzierzgoń, Krzyżanowo, Nowy Dwór Gdański, Pruszcz Gdański and Jantar the Elblag Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Mark Moś played a series of six concerts. All took place in the interiors of historic Gothic churches. In the festival concerts EOK was accompanied by excellent violinist - Janusz Wawrowski. Compere was Jarosław Praszczałek - conductor, composer, instrumentalist.
During the concerts, the audience had the opportunity to hear the treasures of Polish music.
The repertoire included works by outstanding composers: F. Chopin, H. Wieniawski, I. Paderewski, M. Karłowicz, G. Bacewicz, W. Lutoslawski, A. Panufnik and W. Kilar.
The first edition of the festival was a great success. Large audience that filled the interior churches of each day, appreciated the choice of repertoire, the level of its implementation, and above all the passion and commitment of Elblag artists who entered the atmosphere of the world of folk music.
Implementation of the Festival "Muzyka polska na Żuławach" would not be possible if not the financial support from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. For project organization also joined the municipalities and communes, which included the patronage of the event. Local cultural centers served as co-organizers, helping in the preparation of concerts.
Festival "Muzyka polska na Żuławach" contributed to the promotion of the region and enriched its tourist and cultural offer.
